Arizona Foster Care Charitable Tax Credit
The Arizona Foster Care Charitable Tax Credit is easy to claim, repays you for your generosity, and makes a real difference in the life of a child in foster care.
In 2013, the Arizona Legislature passed a provision that doubles the tax credit for cash contributions made to a Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organization, such as Spreading Threads (QFCO code is 10056). To qualify for this designation, a charity has to meet all the requirements of the law and must provide services to at least 200 foster children in Arizona and spend at least 50% of its budget on ongoing services to foster children in Arizona.
The Arizona Foster Care Charitable Tax Credit is available to all individuals and residents who file taxes in Arizona. This means you can now redirect your state income tax liability and help Spreading Threads provide much needed clothing to the 3,500 children currently in foster care in Pima County.
By donating to Spreading Threads you can reduce what you owe in state taxes up to $500 (individuals) or $1,000 (married couples filing jointly). This tax credit comes directly off the top of your Arizona tax bill!
The Arizona Foster Care Charitable Tax Credit is separate from the Qualifying Charitable Tax Credit as well as the Private School Tuition Tax Credit, Public School Tax Credit, and the Military Family Relief Fund Tax Credit. You can utilize all five tax credits concurrently to reduce your state tax liability.
To claim this tax credit, we must receive your online contribution by midnight, April 15 (Tax Day) of the following tax year. If donating by US mail, contributions must be postmarked by April 15 (Tax Day) and sent to:
PO BOX 86182
Tucson, AZ 85754-6182
